Parts On Different Types Of Sandblasters

If you are in need of a cleaning tool for a metal surface, you should consider a sandblaster. All sandblasters operate on basically the same principle; finely ground silica sand is utilized to abrade and clean a surface of paint, rest, and other unwanted materials. Although sandblaster parts vary with the type of sandblaster, all sandblasters have a pressurized air powered gun that fires out this silica sand at a very high speed onto the surface that needs to be cleaned. These guns all also have interior coatings that prevent the sand from eroding the gun with multiple uses.

There are three major types of sandblasters. The gravity fed type has three basic parts; these are a pressurized air tank or air compressor, a handheld pressure that comes with an air hose, and a hopper that is located on top of the gun. You may need an air cannon to promote the movement of  materials through hoppers. If you need a new air compressor for your equipment, you may contact Air compressor dealers or quincy compressor distributors to find the right unit.

The air hose connects to the air tank, and the hopper is where the silica sand resides, this is why these components are so important, a hose repair in Fresno CA is always a must in order to keep these hoses running properly. When you depress the gun’s trigger, compressed air will fire through the gun for as long as the trigger is held down, and an opening at the top of the gun will open, pulling the sand down using the force of gravity and the air flowing through the gun.

Pressure sandblasters are typically used by commercial organizations, as they are fairly expensive but also quite a bit easier to use than the other models. The sandblaster parts in this case include the sandblaster gun, a large canister that contains silica sand that is put under high pressure, and a specialized hose that can handle the eroding effects of the sand. The air and sand will be forced out together when the gun’s trigger is pulled. This makes it so that you do not have to do a significant amount of cleanup or maintenance. However, there are a few disadvantages to this type of sandblaster gun, as the sand is not reusable due to the fully enclosed nature of the canisters, and once the canister is empty, it has to be exchanged for another fairly expensive canister.

Most handymen will have a siphon sandblaster, which can be used to clean and strip significantly large surfaces and is somewhat inexpensive. Las Cruces handyman contractor can perform a lot of repairs needed for your home. The sandblaster parts in this case include a sandblasting gun that contains two separate houses, an air compressor or pressurized tank, and a reservoir of loose sand. One of the hoses is connected to the air compressor (make sure you are using the Quietest 60-Gallon Air Compressor), and the other one is connected to the underside of the sand reservoir. When you fire the gun, the air will create suction, which will pull the sand from the reservoir into the gun to be fired onto the surface.

As you can see, sandblaster parts can vary somewhat with the type of sandblaster that is being used. However, they all have a common purpose and work fairly similarly overall.
